This is a one to two person experience in the beautiful  town of Chelvey just off the A370. Set in a working wood yard with timber frame buildings and a fabulous farm shop around the corner (Brockley Stores).

I have two pottery wheels in the studio and there is also plenty of space to do some hand building should you wish to, please let me know in advance so I can prepare the clay for you.

Once all your work has been bisque fired I will clear glaze everything for you which can take 2 – 4 weeks. There is an option to come back and add a coloured glaze to your pots, this can be discussed prior to your lesson or on the day you come in.

I have clean aprons and towels for your use at the studio but feel free to bring your own if you wish to. 

 

There will be tea, fresh coffee and pasties from Brockley Stores to keep you going!

Making:

We start with a demo from myself and then onto making some simple forms, this gives you time to get a feel for working on the wheel and with the clay.

I'm led by you in terms of what you want to make, if you have something in mind - please bring your ideas, drawings and pictures! Don’t fancy that, I have plenty of ideas and shapes you can make so relax and let me guild you through it. Just bear in mind handles can’t be added on the same day of making, but cups without handles are a great option!
